Semester Is Almost Over!

Wow! The time has gone by so quickly and the semester is almost over. I didn’t even realize how time flies when you’re having fun! I feel confident about this semester, academically! One class that I thought was going to be difficult was actually quite fun! I had the coolest instructor, Dr. Darnell. She is awesome!! When you register for classes, make sure your learning style meshes with your instructor’s teaching style. You can do this by talking to students to figure out which professors they have had in the past that they recommend. Trust me! I do this every semester. There’s also ratemyprofessors.com. With each passing semester I notice that I’m spending less time with my friends and more time with homework, group projects, presentations, preparing for graduate school and everything else in between. Yesterday, April 16, 2009, Georgia State’s new President Mark Becker made a State of the University Address. About 600 people were there and I am very excited about the direction in which the university is going in the near future. Go State! Well, that’s all for now, I have to go study for finals! Arrivederci!

In Retrospect of Fall Semester

Wow! Fall Semester went by so quickly! I am so excited, I made A’s and B’s this semester, yay for me!! So, this past semester my goal was to make all A’s and I got pretty close. I am not too bummed about not reaching my goal because I feel like I have really learned a lot this semester. Well, its Winter break and I have spent time with family, friends and even fellow co-workers and had fun every single minute of it! When you’re in college, you learn to appreciate the breaks that you get! Now that the break is almost over, I am kind of ready to hit the books again. Junior year is going by very quickly and I feel like I have a lot to do and not enough time to do them! I love GSU and I do NOT want to leave. I have learned so much and experienced so many things that I would not have had I gone to a different institution. I feel pretty blessed! Well, I will talk to you guys later!

P.S. Don’t forget to stop by Unity Plaza and rub the bronze panther’s nose for wonderful, safe and prosperous Holidays and a Happy New Year!

The Life a a GSU Tour Guide

Friday, November 21, 2008

This semester has been very exciting! Being a tour guide for GSU has really introduced me to a lot of activities around campus. Admissions hosts several events for incoming freshman throughout the year and I am so happy to be apart of that! So far, we had Panther Preview, where high school students come and see what Georgia State has to offer! Next, we had a luncheon for the guidance counselors from high schools around the Metropolitan Atlanta area. We had another event last night for students who are eligible for the Honor’s Program, to get them more acquainted with the students, faculty and staff within the honor’s community and to also get them better acquainted with the campus. Tomorrow is Instant Decision Day. Instant Decision Day is a day where students may bring in missing documents and find out if they are accepted or if they need to make arrangements to raise scores. The life of a tour guide is never dull! I love it!
