UETS's Zoe Salloom Takes on Role of Entrepreneurship Study Abroad Program Technology Leader

05/12/2006

As Trip Technology Leader, Zoe Salloom of UETS, encouraged Georgia State's future entrepreneurial leaders to blog their way thru Asia, iPods in hand. Each day, students connected their iPods to an Apple Laptop, updated their personal trip blogs with photos, audio clips of lectures, recordings of conversations with people they met, and more.

One of the major uses of the iPods was the "Entrepreneur Scavenger Hunt." The class was divided into teams and sent into the city to digitally capture meetings with people on the street. Before the trip, the class produced a multi-lingual questionnaire that was used to interview as many people as possible. The goal was to answer the trip question, "If these countries are similar in so many ways, why is entrepreneurship so very different?"

Before the trip, participants also loaded their iPods with an audio language helper for Korean and Japanese.
